The Best Holiday Cocktail Recipe for 2021

best christmas cocktail

Make spirits bright … and bubbly!

If you like a French 75, “Champagne” cocktail, or Kir Royale, you’ll definitely appreciate this holiday twist on your bubbly wine. Plus, these ingredients are easy to find — you may even have everything for this holiday cocktail on the bar cart right now!

We chose canned wine over bottled prosecco or Champagne here for several reasons. First, our sparkling wine makes a great cocktail mixer. Secondly, it’s a perfect 2-serving pour between champagne flutes alongside the additional ingredients. And finally, it doesn’t take up as much room in the fridge.

But before you get started, make sure the cranberry juice and wine are cold. Bonus points if you keep your gin in the freezer! You’ll mix it in a cocktail shaker anyway, but since ice doesn’t fit in a Champagne flute, it’s helpful to get all of the ingredients completely chilled beforehand for the refreshing holiday cocktail you’re aiming for.

Also, make sure to keep several cans of wine in the fridge (or mix up a party pitcher) for a large get together. Trust us — as soon as guests start to see their friends holding pretty pink flutes, they’ll want to join in on the fun. For a fancier glass, make orange peel spirals beforehand or roll cranberries in sugar, then let guests garnish their own glass.

It’s the best cocktail for the holiday season. You may even prefer this to a traditional Champagne toast at New Years!
