MEET THE ARTIST

Katie Parland is a partner at Agnes Studio, a collaborative design practice on the coast of Cleveland. In 2010 she received a BFA in design from the Cleveland Institute of Art; that same year, she was selected as one of Graphic Design USA’s Students to Watch. Her work has been highlighted by FastCo Design, Vogue, and Cool Hunting. Katie has won AIGA awards in Student and Professional Design categories and has participated in design conferences and collegiate design reviews in the Southeast and Midwest US.

She currently lives in a 108-year-old house near Lake Erie with her Wife Kelly, daughter Sylvia, and their little dog Stevie.

The Pride box is a celebration—drawing inspiration from the classic Pride flag—the design features 30 colors to represent each day of the month of Pride. When aligned, the rainbow pattern on the box connects from one to the next, making it unapologetically bold, bright, and ready to party.

HINGETOWN: AN ENCLAVE OF OHIO CITY

Our headquarters are on the historic block of W. 29TH Street that was home to Cleveland’s vibrant LGBT community and central to the development of the modern LGBT civil rights movement. There is a historical marker out front celebrating that history. Cleveland’s first Pride Festival in the mid 1970s was held on this street. We are proud to be a part of this neighborhood and are strong allies of the LGBTQ+ community.
