The Best Single Serving Wines

the best single serve wine

The days of low-quality, single-serving bottles of wine are gone — now you can order good wine, packaged just for you! Literally.

It’s a good thing too. Nobody likes opening a bottle and then forgetting to properly store it before it gets dumped down the drain a week later. Individual bottles are also easy for hosting, because guests can pick out exactly what they want. And don’t forget about vacation, whether you’re leaving for a flight the next morning, or grabbing beverages for the cooler, individual portions of wine just make sense.

Plus, it’s easier to gauge how much you’re drinking. By limiting yourself to a can, you don’t risk pouring glass after glass (because wine is delicious) on your weekly girl’s night out, trivia night, or just as an excuse to celebrate “Wine Wednesday”. But if you’re not worried about how much is consumed in one night, these are also a great way to try out multiple wines at once. You can either be stuck with a big bottle of the same flavor, or get a variety pack of different wines and try something new for round two.

With all of the new releases and different types of individual servings out there, it can be hard to know which single-serving wines are worth trying out. Cans are our favorite (obviously) because they are portable, durable, and crushable. However, there are good options when it comes to single-serve bottles — they’ll just be a little more fragile and you risk interfering with their flavor due to sunlight that enters through the clear glass.

Just like regular-sized bottles, store your mini collection in a cool, dark place away from sunlight. Cans don’t have the same level of risk for light pollution, but it’s best to keep them in a place where they won’t fluctuate temperatures often. We recommend keeping all white wines and rosés in the fridge. Red wines can be placed in the pantry or on a bar cart away from a window.

But what wines should you buy? Here are a few of our favorite single-serve wines we think everyone should try.

In Good Taste

Perfect for: The Amateur Sommelier

These mini bottles of wine are marketed as world-class wines, hand selected by their founders, and ideal for those that want to branch out. You can buy one type, or get a variety pack curated by region, variety, or a theme such as Crisp & Classic. This would be a perfect set to get that friend who just got interested in wine, or buy it for yourself and have a tasting party with your nearest and dearest. Everyone can pour a small amount into their glass, rate it, and then move onto the next bottle. See what everyone likes the best at the end — just make sure you get enough for the after-tasting party.

USUAL Wines

Perfect for: The Minimalist

USUAL wines are actually fairly unusual in that they don’t have added sugar and are made in small batches, making them a perfect match for the health nut. They also have a modern look to their bottle that is a great vase once the wine is gone. Another bonus? These wines don’t have a cork, which makes opening them a breeze.

La Marca Prosecco Mini Bottles

Perfect for: The Posh Friend

La Marca and pancakes? Yes, please! These sweet little bottles are ideal for mini celebrations, breakfast in bed, at-home manicures, and make those little wins (job promotions, dog gotcha days, etc.) way more fun. What makes this wine so adorable is the fact that it is an exact replica of the real bottle, but in an individual sized serving. Pop the cork and feel extra luxurious with this Tiffany-blue bottle in hand.

House Wine

Perfect for: The Homebody

These cans of wine are inspired by everyday table wine, and have two servings (half a bottle) per can — that’s a lot of wine. Now you can try their spritzers designed for a slightly-lighter serving at 9% ABV. Or if you’re really craving the hard stuff, give the cocktail collection a try. You can have 2 Moscow Mules, Palomas, or even a Cranberry Cosmo at your fingertips. 2 servings, 1 can, which is just right for the person who doesn’t plan on leaving the house.

Graham + Fisk’s Wine-In-A-Can

Perfect for: The Good-Time Adventurer

We said it before, but we’ll say it again. Canned wine is the best for an outdoor adventure, sipping poolside (no glass!), or just enjoying at home. With four delicious flavors, and two exceptional wines with bubbles, Wine-In-A-Can is made for all of the on-the-go party people. Plus, this can is the perfect size at ⅓ of a regular wine bottle (equivalent to a large single-serving pour) so you can fit it in your backpack or stock a cooler for a football tailgate and let everyone grab the wine they want.

And isn’t that what makes single-serving wines the best? Everyone gets what they want, making these individual wines perfect for … well, everyone.
